Getting sooo big!!!

Carter has been growing like a little weed. I can't believe almost a year has gone by. He waves bye-bye, walks with a toy that has wheels (but not yet completely on his own), has five teeth (three on the top, two on the bottom), and much to my chagrin climbs on the couch and then jumps off onto the boppy pillow. The last is his new trick and he is very proud of himself for that. Household chores are getting more difficult too. If I try to load the dishwasher he climbs on the door and tries to take out all the utensils. If I am making a meal, he is all in the fridge, eating the mustard bottle and trying to snag another juice box. He is still sleeping in our bed. I am not really sure what to do about this one. I know if I let him cry it out, he will probably give up and start sleeping in his crib, but I don't want him to feel scared or abandoned. Plus he is such a cuddle bug. Soon there will be a time where he won't want to even hug his mom and dad, so I want to cherish this time as much as possible.

As for baby duece, he is moving around quite a bit now. I believe he is somewhere between 2-3 lbs. now. I am 26 weeks and 4 days along now. Almost in our last trimester! I cannot believe it. This pregnancy has flown by!!! However, I am so ready to not be pregnant! Except for about four months, I have been pregnant since March of 2006. I have spent my 25th and 26th birthdays without a cocktail or a night out on the town. The last two halloweens I have attended no parties. And I have spent the majority of the last two years in pants with elastic waists. Needless to say, I am looking forward to wearing all my old clothes!

summertime

Everything is good here. We have been enjoying the beach and the pool this summer. Carter loves the water. It has been VERY hot though! I am almost ready for fall to begin. Also, we find out the sex of baby duece on September 11th. So, that is very exciting. I am very curious! Carter is crawling fast, walking while holding onto the couch, and now is even sometimes standing for a second or two without holding on. He is soooo grown. He loves for you to "chase" him, while he squeals and crawls away as fast as he can. He has two handsome teeth that he's learned to bite very well with! He usually bites our arms! OUCH! He also has become quite adept at giving rasberries. He is growing sooo fast!

Well, I know I have been terrible at updating this, but I am hereby promising to be much more diligent!!!

Well, Carter is about 17 lbs now. He is crawling, pulling himself up to standing, and doing all sorts of tricks. He loves to do stuff he knows he isn't supposed to. I am about 2-3 months pregnant with #2. I go to the Dr. tommorow to have an ultrasound and see for sure. My morning sickness has died off for the most part, so I am very thankful for that.

Carter's new favorite foods are flavor ice and pickles. He eats both with his one tooth. He has had this one tooth for over a month, with no sight of another one! He is still nursing, despite frequent attempts to get him to take formula. I don't blame him though, it smells awful.

He loves the water and is a great little fish in the pool. He's not too sure about the waves at the ocean yet though. They scare him. I am sure he will get used to it in time. Well, I better go put him down for his nap!

summer's near

Sorry it has been so long since the last update. We have been pretty busy lately. Carter is getting so big!! He is reaching out and grabbing EVERYTHING, and sitting up really well. He is also eating all sorts of foods which he loves! We are ready for the pool to open so we can take him swimming! I have his board shorts and sunblock and water diapers all ready for him!

the flu bug

Everyone at our household is sick, except for little Carter, thank God. We got some nasty flu bug. Derek stayed home Tuesday because I was too sick to care for Carter and today he left work early because he caught the bug and was feeling awful. Poor thing. So we haven't been able to enjoy any of the beautiful weather but ohwell. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that the baby doesn't get it and we are washing our hands like crazy. By the way, Carter is now 14 lbs. He may only be 3 months old, but the boy is wearing 6 month clothes. He is growing like a weed. He started on Rice Cereal and really likes it. Still refuses the bottle and pacifier though :( We are looking forward to him starting fruit and veggie solids in about 2 weeks!
