Carter turned 4

I cannot believe I have a four year old. My grown boy! Here is my four year old letter to him.

Carter,
You have grown so much this year. You became a big brother again, and learned to use the potty, and learned to clean your room and you can drink out of a regular cup with no spills. You have learned to cut pretty well with scissors, and you like drawing pictures of people. They look great because you are great at drawing circles. We had a fun summer, going the beach and to oceanbreeze and the park. This fall we did plenty of picnics and playdates with Ebbie and baby Sully and your friend Taylor. We went to Chik fil a many times with Mammow, Grandaddy and Mimi. We watched Toy story and Olivia and the Upside Down show. We read many books every night. You have a sweet spirit, and always want to help. You are a caretaker and a leader. You are so good with babies. Baby Sully loves when you talk and play with him. You are good at sharing with your brother Evan. When I think back to the days when you were just a baby, I wish I could hold you in my arms one more time and rock you to sleep. What a special time we had, just you and me, my firstborn. I still get to cuddle you in the morning though, when you wake up and yell for me to carry you into the living room, little prince. But I do it, knowing these days will be over soon. I am so proud of you and all you are. I am excited to see all the world has for you my sweet boy. Your heart is big, and I am sure God has big plans for you. I love you my sweet boy. Thank you for making me a mommy, and for letting me love you. Happy fourth birthday little man.

Who poisoned the waterhole?

We are watching toy story over and over around here. Evan has fallen in love with the movie. He even carries the movie case around with him. So funny. It is a cute movie, so I don't mind watching it over and over again. Toy Story 3 just came out on dvd, so I am going to get that for him for christmas. Carter is doing great with pooping on the potty finally! Praise Jesus, it only took until he was almost four! He has being peeing on the potty for nearly a year now. He is very into spiderman and batman these days. He is still too scared to watch the movies though. He just likes to wear spiderman shirts and play with spiderman action figures. Baby Sully is sitting up on his own. He also started a few foods-applesauce, rice cereal and sweet potatoes. He is trying to crawl, but no quite there yet. He has four teeth now and bites the beejeezus out of us!

They say it's your birthday we're so glad you came along....

they say it's your birthday so we're singing you this song! Baby Sully is six months old today! It is going by so super fast! What a blessing he is to us all. He is the sweetest, easy going baby ever! I am so lucky! Right now he is sitting up by himself and we are getting ready to start him on solid food. Carter always wants to feed him. We have been enjoying the fall breeze and spending a lot of time at the park. I usually get chikfila for the boys and we have a picnic at the park and they run around and play while baby Sully and I sit on a blanket watching. Carter is really into spiderman and batman these days. Evan is saying more words. His proununciation isn't great, but he is trying to say new things all the time, so that is good. He is still all about planes, trains and automobiles. Sarah is coming to live at home for six months while Tom is at Air Force school, so I am excited to be able to spend time with her and baby Vyla. We are up for transfer in June, but are hoping to stay here for another 3-4 years. We will see how it goes.

baby Sully

Our sweet third baby boy was born April 21, 2010 at around 5pm. He weighed 7lbs 3 oz and is just gorgeous. And sweet. I went in early in the morning for an induction. By 3pm I was starting to feel some pain. Shortly after I requested an epidural. Finally, the anestheisiologist came. He tried to place it several times, but I was having a hard time holding still. The nurse decided to check me, and I was 9cm. It was time to push, and I wouldn't get an epidural. I freaked out. Derek told me
"We'll get through this" and we did. I pushed a few times and out came our boy. He pooped on the Dr. on his way out. It was a wonderful birth, but afterward I wound up with a wet tap from when the epidural was trying to be put in. That was the worst pain EVER! Also, Sully wound up at CHKD later for jaundice. My little boo-boo had his IV and was under the lights. He was fine as long as he was getting milk though. He is the easiest baby EVER! We just adore him, even Evan has come around. I am so lucky.

Boy's first airplane trip

Well, our trip to Texas went better than expected! The boys were not scared at all on the airplane, and for the most part, behaved! The worst of it was having to change Evan's poopy diaper in the itty bitty airplane bathroom! I had to stand him up on the toliet seat and wipe him standing up! But it all worked out! They had a great time at Uncle Eddie's house and got to go to a huge mall with a great play area and an awesome rainforest aquarium. I hope to be able to do more trips as time goes on, but we will see once baby boy #3 gets here! :)
